and yes, I was good!  The preparations went well, apart from the fact I forgot to clear a rail for Nicki!!  The guests started arriving and we had good fun.  The wine flowed, the dresses got tried on, the photographs were taken, the make-up tried, the flowers sniffed, the stationery looked at and Sally, bless her, did 6 hair and make-up trials.  Then we had the excitement of a brand new business launching at our event – the Well Heeled Dress Agency.  The clothes Nicki brought were amazing and the girls were fighting over what they will be wearing on the catwalk – I can’t wait to see them!  Party number one complete with no hangover …… wonder what will happen at party number 2!!!!

Dress Number 1

I have to say, this is one of my favourites (and yes, I have tried it on ……. lots!!!)  Actually remind me to tell you the funny story about trying dresses on in front of a visiting council official …….

The dress is part of the Mia Solano 2012 collection and is available at our stockists throughout the UK and Ireland. 

It is a M1212L and is a satin and tulle dress with a satin belt and beaded lace appliques.  It comes in 3 colours, diamond white/silver, ivory/silver and white silver.

Despite the weather, Prettymades was busy this morning. My hero of a husband dropped me off at work so that I would not get wet or blown away and then decided to stay with me.

It’s been a nice day so far, planning, chatting and seeing the brides who were brave enough to come out, but best of all was a visit from the Vicar of Wimborne Minster. He came in to say hello and to wish us a Happy New Year. He said that the Minster is very busy with weddings and that there are some dates that they are already booked up. It’s good to know that despite the economy, people are still getting married and wanting that special day.

Cue sales pitch …. No, I’m not that bad, nor did I bribe him to send all his congregation our way, but it was nice to find out that our little bridal shop is recognised within the community for being friendly and welcoming. Although I do get nagged at by some of the older generation who do not appreciate sexy, slinky wedding dresses in the window and pop in to let me know!! You should have heard the comments on the black and white one ……

This is the bit where I put on my professional head and tell you about our dress of the week!  All the Mia Solano dresses are stunning so we will be introducing you to the range and tempting you to buy …..
